about

This song is about my anxiety and fear in a new city and dogwood trees being the worst smelling things ever.

lyrics

It smells like death on Merrimon Avenue
Cause all the dogwood trees are in bloom.
It's only February, but it feels like spring.
Warm weather gets me worried bout everything.

Will the rhododendron blossom this July?
Will I ever have the skills to survive?

I always broke everything that I touched,
So I started to worry and I thought too much.
Nothin could ever calm my, racing thoughts.
And my head got tied in a Gordian knot.

Nothing's ever come close to untyin it.
But the Zolof helps it ain't like I haven't been tryin.

I know that there's a world, outside my head,
But according to the news there's only bloodshed.
I'd rather be in the prison that I've made.
Cause then I'd know why I'm afraid.

I'm standing at the intersection, waiting for the light to change.
So I can run across the street away from the decay.
